Charles Abbey is an accomplished Development Practitioner facilitating positive global change with over twenty years’ experience that spans from Ghana, through Africa unto the global stage. Charles has an excellent grasp of the social, economic and cultural development and challenges of Africa as well as its geo-politics. He has held national and international positions such as Executive Director of African Development Program, Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Private Voluntary Organizations in Development, International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW) Regional President for Central and West Africa, Global Vice President of the ICSW and Acting Global President, ICSW. More recently, he was the Senior Executive, Africa and Haiti Program at Holt International Children’s Services, USA.

 

Charles made presentations at the ICSW Annual General Meetings and had the privilege of working with the highest levels of leadership at the International Association of Schools of Social Work, International Council on Social Welfare and International Federation of Social Workers to publish The Global Agenda Document for development education and practice. Charles is a motivator, “translating strategic vision into bottom-line results” with skill sets in policy formulation, Board-Management relations, NGO networking and collaboration, a champion advocate for orphans and vulnerable children, community capacity building, project management, organizational internal-assessment and development. He has collaborated with several international non-governmental organizations (including World Vision, TechnoServe, SNV, ADRA, Catholic Relief Services, Action AID, Abt Associates USA, Academy for Educational Development USA, CARE, International Association of Schools of Social Work, International Council on Social Welfare, International Federation of Social Workers), central/local governments (including Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, Gambia), donors (including USAID, World Bank, DfID and CIDA) in the areas of NGO Capacity Building, social policy development and engagement.

Dr. Abbey is a double board-certified Nurse Practitioner in family and emergency medicine, an  active member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the American Academy  of Emergency Nurse Practitioners. She’s an avid researcher and has successfully published  academic, peer-reviewed, research manuscripts. Dr. Abbey is the founder and Chief Wellness  Executive of TheDripTherapy Health & Wellness, a highly-specialized practice that provides  unparalleled service expertise in intravenous therapy and medical wellness. Her clinical  specialities include health promotion, preventive health, evidence-based comprehensive  wellness, and diagnostic errors. Judith’s experiences growing up in Ghana,  combined with her clinical and research skills, sets her apart in providing personalized,  patient-centered care. Dr. Abbey is a wellness and fitness geek at heart, enjoys long runs, and  importantly, loves to spend time with her family who certainly keep her on her toes!

Latoya Abbey is Chief of Programs at Pisgah International Development and Relief Services  (PIDRS).

Prior to PIDRS, Latoya has worked in the financial services industry for well over a decade at  organizations such as Bank of America, Navy Federal Credit Union and Citi Bank. During her  time at Navy Federal Credit Union, She operated and gained experience within the lending  department where she provided much needed assistance and counseling to members needing  financial support. Diligence, dependability, tenacity, and service of excellence form the bedrock  of Latoya's work. Helping members through sound financial planning, budgeting, and managing  complex cases brought value to many stakeholders. She is well versed in consumer and  regulatory compliance with 10+ years of experience maximizing operational efficiency through  quantitative and qualitative approaches to help optimize productivity and performance.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Virginia  Commonwealth University. She resides in Florida with her family.

Millicent is an accomplished social worker and counsellor with extensive teaching  experience. Holding a B.A. in Social Work with Political Science and an M.A. in Guidance  and Counselling, She is deeply committed to empowering individuals and communities.  With a certified mastery of balloon and floral decoration and a certificate in baking, Millicent  blends creativity with practicality. Her professional journey has involved serving as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) consultant and managing a vocational school. She  has collaborated with organizations such as Holt International, African Development  Programme to train women in valuable skills like beading and soap making in promoting  self-sufficiency and empowerment.

 

In addition to Millicent’s professional achievements, She has volunteered extensively,  contributing to polio immunization efforts in Ghana and supporting orphaned children. Her  dedication to making a positive impact is matched by her love for baking, travelling and  babysitting, which reflect my nurturing and adventurous spirit.

Millicent combines expertise, compassion, and creativity to inspire meaningful change in  the lives of those she serves.

As Lead of IT at Pisgah International Development and Relief Services, Lavish employs his multifaceted expertise to design and implement technology-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency and drive impactful initiatives. 

 

Renowned for his adaptability and innovative thinking, Lavish has successfully managed e-learning platforms, optimized IT infrastructure, and contributed to capacity-building programs in digital literacy and internet governance. His work spans multiple sectors, including NGOs, higher education, and private enterprises, showcasing his ability to seamlessly transition between roles and environments while delivering exceptional results. 

 

With certifications in IT Support, Project Management, and Gender Equality, Lavish combines technical proficiency with a people-centered approach, ensuring IT strategies align with organizational goals and empower stakeholders. His commitment to excellence and problem-solving defines his leadership style, fostering resilience and growth across teams and projects.
